Thank You and Goodbye

Goodbye note

I wanted to mark my final entry on this site by thanking the people of Maryhill Kelvin for the privilege of being able to serve as your Councillor for the last five years.

Our team fought a good campaign on our local record but ultimately lost out by less than 50 votes. However I do genuinely wish Cllrs Razaq, Rhodes, Letford and Scally the very best as they now take up office on your behalf.

As for the future, well like too many other constituents I face the reality of seeking employment in the midst of a recession and I can’t pretend that isn’t a little daunting but some time away from the world of politics may be no bad thing.

The party suffered badly in these elections and there is no avoiding the harsh truths that raises. The mantra of There is No Alternative or that this is just another setback would be an insult to the hard work of those who lost and ignore the clear message of the electorate – things have to change.
