Local residents have complained to Cambuslang West Councillor David Baillie about a significant safety issue at the Holmhills Road carpark. Some motorists had started to come out of the carpark onto Holmhills Road via the pedestrian route. This was obviously dangerous and also damaging to the existing shrubbery.

David Baillie has arranged for two guardrails to be placed on either side of the path to prevent this practice.

Some areas of Cambuslang and Rutherglen have been badly affected by issues of inadequate or absentee landlords, poor factoring practices and anti social behaviour by other residents.

The Scottish Parliament has already passed new legislation to regulate the activity of landlords. It is now considering another Bill to tighten up the practices of property factors.
