Scottish Liberal Democrat Autumn Conference
This takes place at The Vine Centre, Dunfermline on Saturday 9th October.
The Secretary will help to make up car-loads to ease the cost. Members are reminded that it is cheaper to book before 3 September. In particular, there is a killing to be made if you sign up for the Autumn and Spring Conferences at the same time. Details are on the Scottish Party website or from Linda Wilson at 0131 337 2314.
Liberal Drinks Night
To mark the end of summer and the start of the political campaigning season we are holding a Liberal Drinks night in The Rock public house in Hyndland Road on Tuesday 15 September at 7.30pm.
Members of the Executive Committee will be present and all members are invited. Whilst we hope this meeting will promote informal discussion of local party issues, its main purpose is social. Come along and meet old friends and make new ones.
New members are particularly welcome.
The Supper Club is back with Celebrity Guests!
We are re-launching our famous Supper Club after a year off. With these nights we aim to provide a convivial atmosphere in which to discuss policy. The format is simple. We meet at 6.00 for 6.30pm and enjoy a two-course meal. The meal is followed by a speech from a well-known Party figure and a discussion session. The venue for both dates is the private dining room of Sloans at 62 Argyll Arcade/108 Argyle Street, Glasgow G2 8BG and the price is £25.00 per head.
The first date is Thursday 7 October when our speaker is Amy Rodger. Amy stood for the Party in the Kelvin constituency at the 2005 general election, is the current Scottish Conference Policy Convenor and a past Scottish Director of the Electoral Reform Society. She will speak on 'Coalition Politics: Keeping the Lib Dem Voice'.
On Thursday 25 November we have Tavish Scott our Scottish Leader who needs no further introduction! Tavish will speak on 'The Challenge of 2011'.
