Shawlands Action Plan Needed

Langside Liberal Democrat Councillor Paul Coleshill has urged Glasgow City Council to get its act together and produce a proper town centre action plan for Shawlands.
Paul said: “Shawlands is a vibrant area and we must fight to keep it that way. Glasgow City Council finally set up a Shawlands regeneration committee but despite carrying out a public survey in the Shawlands area (at last) no action plan has been produced.

Without an action plan the 60s shopping centre and the lack of a joined up street scape with public space won’t change. We need to know what is possible and what it would cost so that we can apply for funding. For the best part of a decade the city council has promised Shawlands an action plan but hasn’t delivered.”
