Refuse Collection Difficulties

Local residents have complained to local Councillor Paul Coleshill about the new 7 day a week refuse collection system. Glasgow City Council have introduced the new system with collections taking place between 7am and 6pm. This is causing many problems in the local area. Paul said: “Many people live in flats and the service intercoms are only active from 8am – 1pm.

When people are not at home, the refuse collectors do not have access to the bins which means that the refuse cannot be collected. While I am not averse to refuse collections during the weekend or at different hours, this must be dealt with sensibly. I am working closely with the Council to resolve these problems.” Councillor Paul Coleshill wants to hear from any local residents with problems on this.
