Brown welcomes the Scottish Affairs Committee report on the Scotland bill

Commenting as the UK Parliament’s Scottish Affairs Committee report into the Scotland Bill is published, Liberal Democrat Constitutional Affairs spokesperson Robert Brown MSP said:

“I welcome the publication of the positive Scottish Affairs Committee report into the Scotland Bill.

“The report demonstrates again that the Scotland Bill is sound in principle and will have a real and positive effect in the years to come, strengthening both Scotland and the United Kingdom immeasurably.

“I have been struck how the Scotland Bill continues to cruelly expose the inadequacies of the SNP, its slogans and its far-fetched claims for the land of milk and honey that would come with independence.

“The Scotland Bill is not the end of the road but the beginning. We can see clearly the increasingly solid framework of the future of our Scotland and our United Kingdom in this Bill.”
