I’m the Scottish liberal democrat councillor for Langside ward, ward 7 in Glasgow city council. I’m also the leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrat group on Glasgow City Council

The ward stretches from the east side of Shawlands to Langside, Battlefield, Mount Florida, via Hampden to west of Kings Park.  Langside has one of the highest populations of any three member ward in Scotland, and much of the ward has the problems of high urban density, namely parking noise and litter (Hampden football and concerts can increase all three!). Getting the 2014 Games for Glasgow is a great achievement, making Hampden problems more urgent!

It is a vibrant community with caring and committed people delivering a lot of voluntary effort from community councils, churches and scouts to bowling clubs and charity shops.

The council is the largest in terms of population and budget in Scotland and one of the largest in the UK continues to face enormous challenges.
