On Saturday 22 August, Glasgow sees not one but two LGBT Prides. The Liberal Democrats' *official* presence this year will be one or more walking parties (less than 10 per grouping) on the Pride Parade. Assembly is due on Glasgow Green from 12.15pm for departure at 1pm and return to the Green at 2pm. All timings and arrangements subject to confirmation/change.
This year's Pride theme is "Happiness" - so please bring along a smile, even if you have to draw it on a balloon.
In previous years, before the official Pride event started charging for admission, the Liberal Democrats have had a stall (see above picture taken in 2010).
Customers can access the stalls and entertainments of the official Pride weekend for an entry fee of £10. If some of those customers choose to wear Liberal Democrat stickers/badges/teeshirts, so much the better...
Meanwhile, at the other end of town, a rival Free Pride will be taking place from 2pm at the Art School on Sauchiehall Street. Unfortunately, the stalls here have not been made available to groups aligned with political parties.
