Safe Parks Campaign
The Glasgow Liberal Democrats are campaigning for Safer PlayParks. These are expensive and essential part of the community. They promote healthy lifestyles for children, safe play and provide a safe space for children and young people. This is however not the case when they fall into disrepair, are vandalised or are overcome with waste.

Launching the Safe Parks Campaign Baillie Margot Clark commented "‘Play parks an essential part of the community. They promote a healthy lifestyle for our children and should provide a safe environment for children. When parks fall into long term disrepair they fail to do this.’
Liberal Democrat campaigner Paul McGarry added ‘The development of local play parks are expensive and often come as a result of a lot of hard work from local campaigners. They are an essential part of the community and action must be taken to ensure they deliver.
‘When parks are damaged or in an unsafe condition they are as much use as a chocolate teapot, we must take action to ensure they deliver a safe environment and that the investment made in the community provides the maximum benefit.
We are calling on Glasgow City Council to introduce a ‘safe parks guarantee’.
- For Glasgow City Council to guarantee all repairs or cleaning of play parks within 24 hours.
- For Glasgow City Council to set up a ‘safe parks’ hotline for all repairs to play parks.
Your help can make all the difference. We are asking residents from accross Glasgow to sign the petition below and get behind the campaign to ensure safer play areas for children and young people.
