Lib Dems have record of action for Scotland

Posted in Scottish Lib Dems

Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats Willie Rennie MSP will be joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of the Liberal Democrats Nick Clegg today supporting Liberal Democrat local champions ahead of the local elections tomorrow.

Lib Dems have record of action for ScotlandThe two leaders will visit Whitlock Energy Collaboration Centre in Fife to hear from apprentices who are learning to build wind turbines to help Scotland meet its world leading climate change targets.

Mr Rennie has supported over fifty campaigns across eighteen council areas and has personally spoken to thousands of voters on the doorsteps.

Commenting ahead of the visit, Mr Rennie said:

“Together with our excellent candidates I have been listening and responding to communities across Scotland. I have learned a lot, but voters have also learned what Liberal Democrats are delivering for Scots at all levels in Scotland.

“Taking 92,000 Scots out of tax and giving over two million more a tax cut, securing more funding for Scottish colleges so the vital training done at Carnegie College and others can continue, and having hard working councillors who listen and respond to the communities they serve shows Liberal Democrats at all levels have a record of action.

“I have been especially encouraged that people value the hard work of their local Liberal Democrat candidates who are champions for their community.

“Every area deserves a councillor who will stick up for them, listen, respond and work with them to get a fair deal.

“That’s what Liberal Democrats do best.

“Our local teams have campaigned on that record, and have promised to deliver more in the years ahead.

“Creating jobs to boost the economy, protecting the environment by boosting recycling, providing nursery education to give children the best start in life and high quality care for elderly people, this is what you can expect if people elect a local champion for their area tomorrow.”
