Nursing figures to do offer true reflection of workforce

Commenting as the RCN query the increase in nursing staff figures, Scottish Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Alison McInnes said:

“The RCN has made clear that today’s figures are not a true reflection of the nursing workforce and have raised concerns about future cuts to nurse numbers. We know that nurse numbers were cut by almost 1,000 last year, placing huge pressures on remaining staff.

“The Scottish Government should be looking at ways of cutting waste and high pay in the NHS in order to protect vital frontline services and maintain nursing numbers.”
