Responding to reports in the Sunday Herald that the Scottish Government has found 20 public-sector employees who have used a legal loophole to avoid paying tax, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP said:
"I am sure many will be annoyed that the Scottish Government is protecting tax dodgers within their own ranks.
“Only after pressure from Danny Alexander and others has the SNP admitted they have a problem. They have been dragging their feet and still now have failed to conduct a thorough review like the UK Government has undertaken.
“Keeping secret the full reports, the cash sums involved and the scale of the problem amongst contractors is unacceptable.
“The SNP need to be open about the extent of tax dodging in their Government."
