Commenting as the SNP launches its local election manifesto promising to ‘put people first’, Shetland MSP Tavish Scott said:
“The SNP’s soundbite will ring hollow to people across Scotland who know that the SNP only put one person and one policy first, Alex Salmond and independence.
“Recycling one of their slogans from the past would be more fitting - “independence: nothing more, nothing less”
“After all, the SNP have gone back to the future in this campaign. Their leader in Glasgow has said that everything the SNP does is a stepping stone to independence.
“The SNP’s focus is on splitting Scotland from the UK and not on creating the jobs and delivering the vital public services that communities across Scotland need.”
